"The best strategy for longevity in filmmaking is to obtain both a solid film education AND a wealth of experiences in today's multi-media. To learn the "mother tongue" of the FEATURE FILM NARRATIVE is to facilitate success in the other vocabularies of advertising, documentaries, music videos, corporate videos, educational videos, and television productions.

Every filmmaker should aspire to be exhibited in as many venues as possible, from cinemaplexes like the SM Theaters, to the YOUTUBE.

Big screens, though, continue to project a special, magical appeal, the reason it's worth learning film craftsmanship through a comprehensive program of academic discipline and practical skills-training."
Marilou Diaz-Abaya
Director of Studies

MARILOU DIAZ-ABAYA FILM INSTITUTE
AND ARTS CENTER
Everyone has a good story to tell. Not everyone, though, can tell their stories on the big screen. Learn how from seasoned masters and mentors headed by internationally acclaimed film director and educator Marilou Diaz-Abaya. At the MDAFI, small classes ensure each student of maximum quality time with faculty. The curriculum is designed to impart both creative and technical proficiency to writing-producing DIRECTORS for the multi-media visual narrative.

Set in the breezy, sprawling Beverly Hills of the culture-and-arts City of Antipolo, Philippines (location map), the MDAFI provides a conducive atmosphere for the study, creation and exhibition of films and other art works. In addition to formal classrooms, the Institute provides multi-purpose halls and al fresco arenas for film screenings, lectures, symposia, conferences, chamber music, art installations, theater performances, as well as shooting and post production services.

For individual classes and consultations, the MDAFI also has classrooms and offices at Greenhills and Horseshoe Village in Quezon City, Philippines.
