Wow!
We got 4 major shots for the movie this weekend. We got the shot of Buckystein's eye launching from his head! The old shot using a fishing pole string technique with just looked stupid. Now his eye blasts out toward the camera!
The next shot was the eye shooting through the air. Woooosh! Then I travailed up to Portage and met Sam "I'm Towel Boy" Bush, and got the shot of all kinds of guns in the back seat of his car. It's the car we used for Towel Boy and he brings the guns to fight Buckystein.
The last shot was Buckystein's head exploding in a ball of flame. We filled the head with fireworks, newspaper and lighter fluid in Sam's side yard and my son Dave lit the match. Sam's step daughter and her boyfriend stood by on water duty. I had no idea bike helmets were so flam able (Buckystein's head is built around a Dallas Cowboy's Bike Helmet). Varoooooom! One fire work after another went off flames and smoke came out his eye socket, mouth and noise until his whole face caved in in a ball of flame.
At that point someone yelled, "Dieter, are you OK?" And we all had a good laugh. Dieter of coarse wasn't in the costume that day, we used a dummy.
I also got a tour of the new Bloodshot Haunted House space from Sam and Mike "Biker Bill", "Old Man" O'Shaughnessy. What a great space.
Next weekend we'll be shooting the head on the glolf corse scene and a bunch off smaller stuff. Then, more editing, add music and credits and we'll be done!
More news next week!
