This was a while ago, but still worth mentioning; My daughter and
I were at the Columbia County Fair, and a teenage-looking ride-
operator noticed my Buckystein T-shirt. He said his friend's dad was
in the Harmony Bar scene of the movie, and he watched it and LOVED
it.
Less than an hour later we were waiting in line to ride the
bumper cars, and the guy taking tickets wanted to know where I got my
T-Shirt and if I was in the movie. He had watched it during that
prior week. When I told him I was in the movie, he insisted that we
ride for free. After our ride was finished, He said it was quiz time,
and he was going to give me an opportunity to win everyone who was on
the bumper cars another round. He asked, "Who is your favorite
college mascot?" .... So everyone got a free ride.
A guy at work checked-out the movie from the Oregon Public
Library and loved it. Some time later there was a report that a bunch
of DVDs were stolen from the library. He hasn't seen the Buckystein
movie there since!
The conclusion we Buckystein afficionados must draw from these
occurances is plain and clear to me; Carnies and shoplifters have a
taste for fine films.
