What's going on???? I'll tell you what is going on! I left the BUCKYSTEIN TRAILER at WJJO. I talked with a nice Gentleman from advertising sales and he said he would pass it on to the powers that be. I said we were interested in a fundraiser at the Orpheum. That was Thursday morning....no call or email yet.
I talked with the Orpheum and they where more than willing to rent the theater (Huge or small screen) They have a video projector but won't show it otherwise, "until proven"is what she said.
I left copies of the trailer at both Bong Videos early in the week--ZILCH! No call, no email, nothing and that's my video store! Stop in and ask to see it.
I left a copy with Shawn the marketing Director at Four Star Video, downtown Madison and they emailed me with in the hour they got it. They want it! Ya Four Star, my new video store.
Ask to see it there too. I'm not saying they will play it, just bug them about it...and don't tell them your in it.
I talked with Eric Allen of WYOU, Madison's community access cable station. He said WYOU could use a fundraiser and might be able to get the Opheum. He gave me the number of the head of fund raising. And, And, AND...I have an appointment to give a small informal presentation Tuesday night! Wish me a broken leg!
Other Stuff:
Hi Lester, great to hear from you!
Hi Nathan (Egor) and Scott (Rex), great to hear from you too!
I showed my father in law the trailer because he's a big time play write in Chicago. He seemed disgusted, like it was in poor taste. Said nothing. Ya, it hurt. "Your not my real, Dad!!!" Ya old coot! It's not like he is going to join our group.
Richard you brought up the Science fiction aspect of our movie and some Sci-Fi conventions we could show our movie at. Though I agree it sounds like a good idea, I have some reservations. I tried very hard to get help from the Sci-Fi community when I made this picture and I didn't get much response. I've concluded that monster movies may not be their thing. Now the WJJO crowd, they know how to party!
I mailed a trailer to Dieter (Buckystein) on Saturday, maybe he can get it on the Buckystein group.
More later,
Geoff (Union South Guy--hey, we all can't have big parts!)
