Okay.
This isn't an official "I got it from some website" piece of info. A
friend of mine that works for The Sci-Fi Channel in New York told me
this yesterday (on Sunday, May 8th):
As some of you may know, Disney bought up the rights to Buck Rogers
in 1997 to develop a project of sorts out of it (probably a movie).
A few scripts got tossed around, but even it all went silent. Well,
my friend "Chuck" (not his real name, but we'll just call him that
since he wasn't supposed to tell me about this at all) told me he
overheard some talk around the cooler about The Sci-Fi Channel
buying up the rights for Buck Rogers off of Disney in hopes to
develop a new series based off of it, using their recent success
with the new Battlestar Galactica as proof that the new Buck series
will sell to the public for sure (given the right actors, writers,
directors, ect.).
Now I don't know if "Chuck" is pulling my leg or not (he does know
I'm a monstrously rabid Buck Rogers fan), but if the info is true
(which I sadly have no way to verify it) then we may be in store for
the return to TV of the original space hero!
WOO-HOO!
