'DRUMLINE' MARCHES TO A SOLID DEBUT SHOWING WITH $13.1 MILLION!

20th Century Fox's urban laffer "Drumline" marched to a solid
third-place showing with a $13.1 million debut this weekend. Opening on
just 1800 screens, this comedy, set against the high-energy, high-stakes
world of show-style marching bands found at HBCU's (Historically Black
College and Universities), had the highest per screen tally among wide
releases with over $7,000 per screen. Congrats to director Charles Stone
III, writers Tina Chism and Gina Prince-Bythewood, and the hot
up-and-coming cast including Nick Cannon and Zoe Saldana. Let's continue
to support the films that reflect all the flavors of us all! Also at the
box office this weekend (ending 12-15-02), Sony/Revolution's Jennifer
Lopez romancer "Maid in Manhattan" topped weekend box office with an
