I recommend everyone check out this film series at Medgar Evers in
Brooklyn, New York.
They had a dynamic film that I saw last week called Nightjohn. Also,
Wednesday screening
will be showing the trailer to the upcoming film BROTHERS GONNA WORK IT
OUT.

‘Eyes On The Rainbow: Assata Shakur And Oya’ – A documentary film focuses

on the life of Assata Shakur, the Black Panther and Black Liberation Army
leader who escaped from prison and was given political asylum in Cuba,
where she has
lived for close to 20 years. In it we visit with Assata in Havana and she
tells us
about her history and her life in Cuba. This film is also about Assata's
AfroCuban context,
including the Yoruba Orisha Oya, goddess of the ancestors, of war, of the
cemetary and
of the rainbow.
