Hi Everyone,
There doesn't seem to be much news lately so I thought I'd tell you
a story.
From 1990 to 1993 I worked at the Southern California Renaissance
Faire. Billy was performing there in Taming of the Shrew during
those years (and probably before and after). The stage where he was
performing was directly in front of the booth where I worked so I
saw the performance several times a day. I really enjoyed watching
it evolve over the years.
I didn't really know Billy. He used to come by my booth in the
mornings for coffee and was always very friendly and well mannered.
The thing I remember most though was how kind he was to my son.
Brendan was 7 or 8 at the time and loved to draw. Sometimes he'd
come to work with me and would sit and draw while I worked. On a
couple of occassions he was there when Billy came to get coffee.
Billy would ask to see his pictures and was always very
encouraging. I was a single parent and Brendan was rather starved
for male attention particularly after my father died. Not that
Billy knew any of that. He's just naturally a kind person I suspect
and seems to really like children.
I don't watch much TV so I hadn't seen or heard anything of him in
years. A friend recommended The 4400 though and I was pleasantly
surprised to discover he was in it. Can't wait for the Third Season
to come out on DVD. I missed the first part.
