Episode Sixty-Eight: BETTER IN THE DARK GETS SUPER ON TV!

To celebrate Thanksgiving month, Tom and Derrick team up with Views From The Longbox host--and Superman maven--Michael Bailey to examine Superman In The Media! This time up, the trio tackles Superman on television and radio. From Bud Collyer and George Reeves to Dean Cain and Tom Welling, The Guys Outta Brooklyn cover all the cathode ray tubes adventure of the Man of Steel (oh, and the radio show, too). Plus, midgets in dog suits, an examination of the mystery surrounding Reeves' death, the truth about how Derrick parties, and the musical version of Supes. We're more powerful than Rex Reed's lisp, so get to clicking!

Episode Sixty-Seven: BEHIND THE DUEL OF MARY LOU, THE LITTLE GIRL WHO BURNT SATAN'S CLAW

It's become a tradition--around Halloween, The Boys Outta Brooklyn always pick three horror films you might not have considered when planning your movie marathons for the spookiest holiday of all...and now that tradition comes to Earth-2.net! Derrick chooses three films from the 70's including one of Steven Speilberg's first and a creepy guignol tale featuring a young Jodie Foster, and Tom chooses such gems as a high school ghost story and a 'documentary' that follows an aspiring serial killer as he plans his night of grue! It's a six-pack of sinister ideas--plus some suggestions for a second feature to make those choices even more fun--so get to clicking!

Episode Sixty-Six: DIRECTOR'S COURT--THE CASE OF QUENTIN TARANTINO

It's the first segment of Director's Court, where the Guys Outta Brooklyn put famous filmmakers before the court of public opinion and decide whether they're still valid...or funneling down the drain. This time up, it's QT himself who's under the microscope. Tom and Derrick examine Tarantino's use of cultural touchstones, whether some of his set pieces are homages or rip-off, whether his frequent appearances have served to sour the public separate from the films themselves, and other outstanding issues revolving around the man who made being a film geek cool. Plus we review Inglorious Basterds and make suggestions as to what Tarantino should pursue for future projects. It'll get medieval on you ass, so get to clicking!

Episode Sixty-Five: GILT-EDGED BONDS--GOLDENEYE and TOMORROW NEVER DIES

It's time for the final leg of our tour through the Bond films with the first half of the tenure of Pierce Brosnan. The Boys Outta Brooklyn argue that the Brosnan films represented a hard reboot that pre-dated the Craig reboot years later, and examine a great debut picture and a lousy, lousy follow-up. We also discuss how the loss of the lawsuit with MGM-UA affected how the Brosnan films were written and produced, the value of fresh directorial blood, and a flaw in 'The Commentary Script.' Plus Tom likes Michelle Yeoh...a lot..., the revelation of the Peckinpah-Bond connection, and Derrick talks about his nominee for worst Bond henchman. We are Inwincable, so get to clicking!

Episode Sixty-Four: THE SEARCH FOR MY SECRET CLIFFHANGERS: TV WE'D LIKE TO SEE ON DVD

The Boys From Brooklyn do their semi-annual trip into the televisual realm as they discuss forgotten TV Shows we'd like to see on DVD. From the maybe ahead of its time high-tech spy show Search to the super-heroic Jerry O'Connell starring sitcom My Secret Identity, Tom and Derrick discuss some of those forgotten shows they wish they could revisit before they throw it open to the BITD Message Board's wish list! Plus an examination of how Wonder Woman moves through the air, more discussion of Billy Joel than you really want on a movies podcast, and Tom's choice for the defining moment of Millennium. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra, while Derrick explains why most of the films he saw didn't thrill him. Is that a podomatic thing? I think I recall Tom mentioning something about that. I'll just use the other download link.

You know...this is the first time I heard that fucking podomatic is asking
listeners for money to hear the show. We do not get any kickback from the
assholes; they're apparently using our unwillingness to pay them for the
substandard product and snarky customer service to solicit money from our
listeners.

You would think we'd get rewarded for bringing lots of traffic to the site,
not punished like this.

I hate podomatic. I wish lightning strikes its home offices in San
Francisco.

Please use the Internet Archive link. It's free, and you won't get hit up
on for money.

Episode Fifty-Nine: BLACK GLOVES ARE FOR MURDER: THE GIALLO STYLINGS OF DARIO ARGENTO

The Guys Outta Brooklyn go continental as we examine a quintet of giallo films by the man who helped originate the genre, Dario Argento! From the insanely plotted but compelling Tenebrae to the insanely plotted and craptacular Trauma to the clip show love letter Do You Like Hitchcock?, Tom and Derrick examine the handiwork of this seminal Italian director. Plus Tom gets an excuse to trot out another accent, how the Three Mothers trilogy is like Kill Bill and a word from our sponsor, The Argento Decapomatic! You know it's all like a dream brought on by too much Ziti Fra Diablo, so get to clicking!

Episode Fifty-Eight: THE CHERRY DUEL OF GAMES DOGS THE THIRST FOR FIDELITY

It's time for our Third Annual Obscure Films We Love Episode, and The Guys From Brooklyn step up with a sextet of intriguing movies. From the Peckinpah classic Straw Dogs to the 'nice guys behaving badly' western Duel At Diablo to the romantic comedy guys love High Fidelity, Tom and Derrick share some of their forgotten and overlooked favorites. Plus Derrick tells comic fans how to handle revealing their hobby to their girlfriends, Tom puts another name on his Ass-Kicking List, and the Better In The Dark Team want the future they were promised! It's better than a Cosby Sweater, so get to clicking!

Episode Fifty-Seven: GILT EDGED BONDS--NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN and A VIEW TO A KILL

We reach the darkest part of our journey through cinematic Bond as The Guys Outta Brooklyn dissect the horror that is Roger Moore's final film. Of course, before they reach this particular (shaken, not stirred) Heart of Darkness, Tom and Derrick debate the value of the Kevin McClory curiosity that marked the surprise return of Sean Connery to the role that made him famous! Plus Derrick reveals his choice for worst Bond Girl ever, the guys discuss busted pilots of the 70's, and a very, very bad Christopher Walken impression! It's a dance into the fire, so get to clicking!

It's another review episode, as The Guys Outta Brooklyn look at recent releases they saw in the theaters! And while they have high marks for The Wrestler, Taken and Watchmen, Tom finds little joy in seeing Kristen Bell don one of the iconic sci-fi fetish objects of all time in the road comedy Fanboys. Plus Derrick likes Marisa Tomei...a lot, Tom becomes wary of a particular movie theater, and some common sense advice about which movies to take your kids to. We have a particular set of skills, so get to clicking!

Programming Note: We're taking a brief break, so episode Fifty-Seven will be available on May 17th.

For your consideration:
Lynn-Holly Johnson is the raw genetic material for a clone ... named Ashley Tisdale!
This is a Disney conspiracy! We wouldn't accept their manufactured alien looking star in the late 70s, so now they've unleashed it again!

The Guys Outta Brooklyn return to the man who likes things shaken and not stirred and examine two of Roger Moore's better entries. The first shows us the thoroughly hardcore bad-ass Bond Moore could have been, and the second wins out due to superior settings, excellent villains, suspenseful moments....and the revelation that Moore was The Flash. Plus more on the grotesque nature of Lynn-Holly Johnson, a literary announcement that involves both Tom and Derrick, and repeated, joyful use of the word 'Boobs.' Episode Fifty-Four: INTO THE COLD, DARK WOODS: FILMS FROM THE DARK DAYS OF DISNEY

In this episode, The Guys Outta Brooklyn look at a point in the history of Disney where the company was losing money and the urge to experiment was high. From the big-budget science fictioner The Black Hole to the ground-breaking Tron to the slow motion accident that was The Black Cauldron, Tom and Derrick evaluate a sextet of Disney's most peculiar releases. Plus video arcade memories, the ending of The Hunchback of Notre Dame you should've seen, and wacka-chickas. Lots of wacka-chickas. In this episode, The Guys Outta Brooklyn take a look at one of the great cinematic icons of the 80's, Sylvester Stallone, through one of his greatest characters, John Rambo. From the sheer good luck of First Blood being an action movie hit to the movement of the character into super-heroic territory and ultimate oblivion, Tom and Derrick will show how Rambo's filmic odyssey reflected what Stallone himself went through, and how he needed to go through the leaner years of the 90's to make the fiercer yet humbler Rambo. Plus Derrick talks about his brush with Richard Crenna, gratuitous Stallone impersonations, and even more gratuitous talk of G.I. Joe and the wacked-out martial arts non-classic Gymkata. You know it's coming for you, so get to clicking!

Episode Fifty-Two: V WATCHESTHE RETURN OF THE EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN

To get you ready for Zack Snyder's adaptation, The Guys Outta Brooklyn discusses a trio of films that were inspired in some way or another by Watchman writer Alan Moore. From the campy silliness of Return of The Swamp Thing to the thought provoking thriller V For Vendetta, Tom and Derrick gets you ready for this year's big super-hero release! Plus Tom imitates Alan Moore, Derrick actually has something nice to say about Natalie Portman, and a near-brush with Sean Connery! Episode Fifty-One: TOM AND DERRICK VERSUS THE OCTOPUS, THE JELLYFISH, THE PORN STAR AND THE GROWLING GERIACTRIC

It's time for another Better In The Dark Review show, and The Guys Outta Brooklyn tackle a quartet of films snuck into theaters in and around the Holiday Season. Not only do Tom and Derrick dissect such recent releases as Gran Tourino, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Seven Pounds, but Tom declares war on the man who told Eva Mendes she looks like a famous sex symbol from his childhood, Derrick comes up with a new can't miss Will Smith movie, and the guys debate which actress is better: Rhona Mitra or Kate Beckensale. All this and frank unpolitically correct talk. Don't break those eggs, get to clicking!

Episode Forty Eight: GILT EDGED BONDS: THE SPY WHO LOVED ME and MOONRAKER

We return to our overview of the James Bond series with the ultimate version of the sublime to the ridiculous, as the Boys Outta Brooklyn examine the pinnacle of the Roger Moore era, and one of the lowest points not just for the Moore movies but for the entire series! This episode gives you a Derrick and Tom so dumbfounded by what they're reviewing they resort to Foghorn Leghorn impressions to convey their distaste! Plus the revelation of the Stanley Kubrick/James Bond connection, we revisit our adoration of Carolyn Munro and the rise and fall of Jaws. Nobody does it better, so get to clicking!

Episode Forty Eight: MOVIEGOING USA--THIS FACE HAS CHANGED

In a change of pace episode, The Boys Outta Brooklyn move away from the movies to focus on the places you go to see them, movie theaters! During a freeform conversation, Tom and Derrick reminisce about their own experiences going to the movies, discuss the way the movie theater business has changed, the disappearance of the independant and single screen movie venues, and how the rise of home media formats such as videotape and DVDs may have eroded audience behavior. Plus Judd Apatow and Universal treat our guys to free popcorn, and a tangent involving fanfiction. It's a matinee complete with trailers and shorts, so get to clicking!
