No messages, huh? I discovered BO only last year, and joined the
Internet only last week....don't blame me! And I've seen only four
BO efforts - TNES, DARYL, COCOON 1 & 2. Now who's gonna tell me how
to get hold of more, Frankenweenie especially? And I'm not
Stateside. Come on, help!
Me, I'm looking for a site to have a serious discussion on facts &
opinions about BO's movies. If that's too boring, let me know and
I'll unsubscribe pronto. For instance....
1 - was it coincidence that the same eye-test-card was used in DARYL
and Cocoon 1? And how come that Daryl was allowed to memorise it
WRONG?
2 - did BO's Directors tease him from one movie to the next, or copy
each other's work? The test-card, yes, but was it pure accident that
baseball was a strength in Daryl and a weakness in Cocoon 2? And did
he really, aged 12, have such control of his accent that he could
appear preppy in Daryl and hill-billy in Cocoon 1? And the
sweatshirts with a coloured neck-band; and the endless tracksuit
tops. What was going on, if anything?
3 - talking of voice....could BO play the piano? If not, his
simulation of playing in DARYL was remarkable. But my guess, from
the musicality of his voice and his sense of timing, was that he was
pretty damn musical. Anyone know anything? And what pieces was
he 'playing' on the piano? I'd be prepared to practise them myself,
for old time's sake.
4 - Why did 'Continuity' have so many probs in every movie with BO's
hair? Style could change three times in a scene. And why do we
notice the fact (those of us that do)?
5 - Joey Cramer did an excellent job of making FLIGHT OF THE
NAVIGATOR an enjoyable movie. But can't you just hear the way BO
would have voiced some of the lines, and wouldn't it have made for a
better-focused movie? What do you think?
I could say more. This BO kid was probably a seriously good actor -
he'd lost his poise and presence by Cocoon 2 - but we should not
take for granted what we've got. So don't get paranoid about some
stupid SOB who tormented your site in the past. Let's get analyzing
all the stuff that's there to be enjoyed.
Come back soonest.....DUOBOLETI
Hello Tadashiro,
welcome to our Barret Oliver Group. Do you have perhaps photos to
share?
Well, have a nice time here. I was a little bit in hurry the last
month so there wasn't much Group activities here.

Dear members,
As you can see Yahoo merged their clubs with the Groups and so we now
have a Group meeting point in the Web. I hope you like it. I'll
change the look of this group a little bit the next days, because you
can add HTML to the greeting message right now. I'll also change the
club picture and perhaps the colors. Well, come and again and see
what happened.
bye

Hello everyone!<br><br> It's been a little while
since there's been a post, so I figured I'd break the
silence. In case anyone's interested, Both "Coccoons" are
going to be on OMAX, a channel on Digital Cable here in
in america, although I'm not sure of what it's
rosters are elsewhere in the world. One, I think, is
going to be on tonight. (Wed Oct. 17). I've finally
located a copy of the episode of "Love, Sidney" that
Barret was in. I'll let you all know how it is when I
get it. By the way, it seems that a lot fo Noah
Hathaway (Atreyu) fans are sending requests to People
magazine to get him listed in the "Where are they now"
section. I emailed them about both Barret and Noah, maybe
everyone else here can do the same. From waht I
understand, they usually respond well to enough inquiries, so
we should get crackin'. It's worth a shot, right? Go
to www.people.com and make sure to go to the section
where you can email the editors of the magazine, not
those of the web
site.<br><br>www.mp3.com/roswell<br>www.mp3.com/showcase<br><br> Cheers,<br><br>
-Randy.
I saw the episode the other night. I actually
already had a copy of it, but it was of horrible quality,
so it was nice to see how it should look. I too
think that it was one of his better appearances. One of
the roles that takes the cake for me is probably his
episode of "Highway to Heaven." It's pretty dramatic. I
wonder what Barret's most prized role was for himself. I
can't remember if I've asked this before but, has
anyone seen his guest roll in "Love, Sidney?" I'd really
like to see it...<br><br>www.mp3.com/roswell<br><br>
-Randy.
I was wondering who got a chance to see this the
other night. In my opinion, it is one of his best
performances. Although the program is only 23 minutes long,
Barret has more screen time than he did in the Cocoon
films, for example. He also narrates parts of it. I read
the original short story by Stephen King (from his
short story collection Skeleton Crew) and found that
the adaptation is superior. For those who missed it,
I hope you'll have the chance to see it when it's
on again. For those who have seen it, I'm interested
in your comments.<br><br>Cavaliermanus
They are both listed at the imdb but I always assumed they were the same. It is
strange now that I think of it. I hope someone can clarify for
us.<br><br>Cavaliermanus
Hello there!<br><br> Has anyone heard of Barret
starring in Faerie Tale Theater - The Relucant
Dragon?<br>I've heard it in a few places, but am not too sure. I
know he's in the legend of sleepy hollow, which is
also another "Shelley Duvall presents" thing. Maybe
someone has a copy of this, or knows more?<br><br>Check
out my band:<br>www.mp3.com/roswell<br><br> -Randy.
Hi Folks.<br><br>My friend Cavaliermanus just
gave me some info about Twilight Zone Episode: Gamma,
starring Barret Oliver, will be shown on this date and on
which channel: <br><br>Thursday 8/30/01, 3:30 AM CDT,
channel TNT. <br><br>You guys might want to set your
VCR's for this to tape it. Enjoy it,
everyone!<br><br>**-Michael Brown**
The movie that was described is a 1984 film called Cloak and Dagger. Barret
Oliver is not in it. It starred Henry Thomas who played Elliot in E.T.
<br><br>Cavaliermanus
i received the following email some days ago and
perhaps you have an idea what movie is
it:<br><br>----<br>Hey there,<br> <br>I'm been trying to find out the
title of a movie that I was pretty sure Barret was in,
but unfortunately I haven't been able to find any
info about it on the web. So now I am starting to
think I'm mistaken.. and it's not really Barret who
made that movie. But before I'd give up on my search,
I decided to write both of you [who have excellent
BO sites], and maybe you could help me out.<br>
<br>"The movie is about this little boy, who lives with
his father - the mom died. The boy plays video games
all the time. He and his little friend [a little
girl] are playing with walk-talks in a building, he's
playing on the stairs when a dying [he'd been shot] man
drops this videogame tape on his backpack. The "bad
guys" see the boy and run after him all the way
downstairs, but can't get him. The boy drops his baseball on
his way out and it has his name written on it.<br>
<br>He also has this HERO [imaginary guy/friend - and I
believe it's the same guy who plays his father] and
throughout the whole movie they try to scape from those bad
guys. There's one scene in a museum in which the little
boy thinks he's safe with when he tags along with an
'adorable' old couple. He knows though that the bad guy
who's waiting for the tape has only 4 fingers and it
turns that the old lady is that bad guy.<br> <br>In the
end there's a scene on a park where he sees the
imaginary friend getting shot. The old couple takes him to
the airport, there's a plane exploding, and the Dad
goes and saves him [his HERO]."<br>I love this movie,
but I couldn't find ANY info whatsoever. And I was so
sure it was Barret who played the little boy.<br>
<br>Please if you guys know anything about it, lemme know.
I'm going insane, here. =)<br>Thank
you,<br>----<br><br>So what do you think?<br><br>bye <br>Cal_Man
finally a barret oliver fanclub yeahhhhhh<br>he is my favourite actor though i
wish he would come back to acting.....my fave movie was D.A.R.Y.L and the
neverending story<br>hello everyone
I have tons and tons of Barret Oliver pics, some you may have some u may not
have. If you have AOL I can send you some pics of him, but ONLY IF YOU HAVE
AOL!
It would be great if everybody would fill in
their Yahoo profiles, including age and location so we
could have some idea about who we are chatting with --
it makes it more interesting -- Thanks -- Tom
Hi, I've just joined this club, because I've been
a big fan of Barret's since I first saw him way
back when The Neverending Story was first released. I
used to have a fanpage for him at WBS/Infoseek/Go, but
when it was taken over by Microsoft my site along with
lots of others simply dissapeared. I've just started a
group at Yahoo, which is not intended to be in
competition with this club, but is just another site to try
and bring Barret to the attention of more people. If
you want to join the group, it's
at...<br><br><a href=http://groups.yahoo.com/group/barret_oliver
target=new>http://groups.yahoo.com/group/barret_oliver</a><br><br><br>
Your's...Mice Elf.
I just joined the club, because I love the movies
he was in -- The Internet Movie Database gives all
his screen and TV stuff -- it's GREAT! -- I loved
D.A.R.Y.L., but the movie I think was his best is The
Christmas Star, a Disney movie with Lou Grant as an escaped
con trying to find the money he was convicted for
stealing, and enlisting the help of this bunch of little
neighborhood kids -- IT'S GREAT! Talk at you later! -- Tom

Hi Cavaliermanus,<br><br>perhaps I have someting

target=new>http://home.earthlink.net/~hodge2/barret/barret.html</a><br><br>This

Oliver". There are many rare things to see. The webmaster
owns some very special videotapes. Perhaps he has what
you are looking for.<br><br>bye<br>Cal_Man Michael
Does anyone know if Barret did any taped
interviews? I am sure many fans would like to have seen
Barret on talk shows. If anyone knows of any interviews
he gave or talk shows he has been on, please let us
know. Better yet, if anyone has any on tape and have
the resources to turn it into a streaming video file,
I am sure many of us would be interested.

There is a original photo of Barret Oliver
currently up for auction at Ebay. I don't know if any of
you plan to bid on it, but the pic is definitely
worth a look. As far as I know, it's been put up for
the first time, since the seller was given exclusive
rights by the photographer. The picture appears to be
from the late eighties. For some reason, I can't paste
the URL, but if you want to see the picture, just
type his name on the Ebay search engine and click on
(All caps) "Teen Barret Oliver Hot 8x10 Color Photo".
Hi Fans,<br><br>I am very happy to welcome you
here! This new fanclub will be now our place to share
new, pics and anything else of Barret Oliver. New
information will be added to the fansite. So please feel free
to post questions or something else.<br><br>Cal_Man
Barret Oliver always gave an impressive
performance in films such as DARYL and NES. However, he also
gave an outstanding performance in an episode of
Highway to Heaven, in which he played a child dying of
cancer. His performance was very touching, and the final
scene, where his mother waits by his bedside while he
slips away was very heartbreaking to watch. I haven't
watched many episodes of that series, because of the way
they handled certain issues, and while that episode
may be flawed, it also contains one of Barret's best
performances.
I'm glad I had the Opportunity to join this club.
And it would be cool if Barret Oliver one day
discovered this club.<br><br>And the Films I've seen Barret
Oliver star in were The Never Ending Story, Secret
Garden, D.A.R.Y.L, and this "Franken Weenie" (did I spell
that right?) clip. He was one of the most talented
actors during the 80's. <br><br>BTW. I wounder how
Cal_Man got the info Barret Oliver wanting to become a
Photo Journalist.
