Although discussion in this club should be devoted to the work that
Barret has left behind, many of us would like to know what Barret is
up to these days. This does not mean we should open up this forum to
mere speculation, but we can encourage those who do have information
to update us. Personally, I wish he did not leave as soon as he
did. I know many other fans share this opinion. Of course, Barret is
invited to participate in our discussion. If you are there, we would
all love to hear from you!
I was surprised to find that many photos have been added to the photo
section. Thanks for those of you who have contributed. I have a few
pictures that I found on Ebay. I downloaded the pictures onto my
hard drive and am wondering whether I need to contact the seller
before I post them.
Peter, I enjoyed reading about your BBM's. I don't know if anyone
noticed this but in the same scene Barret is doing something with his
hands. His father attempts to bring him out into the real world, yet
the artist is always in touch with his inner experiences. I believe
that Barret's sensitivity and craft has a lot to do with him being
able to live out these experiences in life as well as in the movies.
I did watch Cocoon which I enjoyed very much. After reading all your
input, I am now looking forward to seeing it again. Barret doesn't
have a lot of screen time in the middle half, yet he makes the whole
movie worthwhile. I appreciate your insight. Many of the quieter
moments you mention are really the most affecting. Although Barret
proved ,in films such as NES, that he was equally skilled in
performing scenes that were charged with emotion.
Could you provide the link that has the NES screenplay? I searched
the net but was unable to find it.
I'll think of many more BBM's for next time. Peter, I was wondering
what you thought of Cocoon 2. I thought his performance in that film
was typically excellent. The scenes he has with Wilford Brimley were
extremely touching and reminded me of the first film. I recommend
that you check out his later films.
Hello Cal Man. It's good to see that you are back. I'm looking
forward to more updates from your site.
Everyone, feel free to contribute to this growing thread. I'm very
interested to hear about what you thought were Barret's best moments.
Later,
Mark
