Doesn't exist?!!!! How exactly could you learn a language that does't exist? If it didn't exist, there would be nothing to learn. The Klingon Language does in fact exist. Try not to speak so loosly about topics that you obviously know nothing about. jeH batlh!
I`m watching it, I even listen to the podcasts on itunes.

Ok, so who is watching Fringe? This show is really getting interesting. I can't quite grasp some of the story arc, and then something happens to connect it, sort of like X-Files was at the beginning (before it turned into a melodrama). Is anyone else watching this show?

The Klingon Dictionary, Conversational Klingon is an audio program that can teach anyone to speak authentic Klingon. It includes the words, phrases, pronunciations and customs for any situation, including: proper voice inflection, key Klingon words for emergencies, and sample conversations between Klingons.
I've been watching Fringe from the start. I found it a little odd in the beginning, but now I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

Haven't been able to catch it this season because of my work schedule) but love the show so I'm waiting for the season to come out on DVD/Blu-Ray. I don't usually watch TV but Frunge definately is watch worthy (FRINGE is good also...my computer like to make me look silly by misspelling words. But I can look silly on my own). Nice to see some decent NETWORK shows like this.
Not that I'm a geek or anything (OK...yes I am), I have the Klingon Dictionary, the Klingon language tapes amd I actually took a correspondence course for Klingon. Mr Q seems a bit naive, but we can guide the young Padawan to the right path. Yeah...well!

Did anyone see The Prisoner last night ? I enjoyed it. I agree with you it seems the people that run the TV industry today have short attention spans. They don`t give good shows time to build an audience. In the early days of TV a lot of mediocre shows stayed on in spite of iffy ratings. The Beverly Hillbillys was on 8 years in spite of their bad ratings. The Twilight Zone was on 5 years with bad ratings, it got cancelled half way through the 5th season only to be brought back to finish because the show that replaced it had worse ratings. Of course I`ve always wondered how accurate the Nielsens are. It seems they want high rated shows out of the box as cheaply as possible, thats why these bad fake reality shows are on everywhere. But
science fiction does have limited appeal anyways.

I like it too. I don't hope any show will get cancelled just because I don't care for it. I mean I hoped Donald Trump's show would get cancelled but that's because I think he's an asshole who doesn't deserve a platform, but V has some of my favorite actors in it so I hope they get to at least finish the story arc.
And its not like anyone would go back and watch the first one if they were not already a fan. But the networks really need to grow an attention span and let the stories get told by the story tellers instead of the marketing department.

The original V was about 25 years ago. I hardly remember anything about it. I can write plenty about how bad it is without making any comparisons to the original. Most shows I just ignore & leave it to others if they want to watch them. It's just a matter of taste, right? I hope V gets cancelled, the sooner the better.

The Heinlein novel is a classic. It's not especially short for a sci-fi novel
of it's time (1959).
Verhoeven wanted to say very different things than Heinlein did & might have
succeeded if he had a better cast. A lot of people say that the sub-plot came
from the Archies but I wouldn't know. I think the sub-plot illustrated 1 of the
things that Verhoeven wanted to say - about how immature young people can be
when they join the military.
The movie was promoted as a straight up action movie & some people never
appreciated the satire. "Do you you want to know more?" is 1 of my favorite
lines ever.

don`t even like that word. aren`t most ramakes and movies made from books
reimagining of the original story. I didn`t get to see the original BSG
> until the Sci Fi (Sy Fy ??) channel showed it in the 1990`s, during 1979-1980
I was in Germany. I liked both the original and the remake. I don`t think the
new BSG was reimagining, because it went along with the original story line, I
think, I missed most of it because Comcast took the Sci Fi channel off basic
cable. I really like The Starship Troopers (this was a movie someone tried to
stop me from seeing because they didn`t like it), I have no idea what the
original source material was. I`m an original Trekkie from the 1960`s, I saw
Star Trek when it first was shown on TV during the 1960s. I have yet to see the
new movie so I can`t comment, but I`ve heard both bad and good. Now The Nutty
Professor with Jerry Lewis was a very good example of reimagining of the Dr
Jekyll & Mr Hyde story, that went totally wrong when Eddie Murphy remade it.

BSG, reimagining. No problems with it. Abrahms Star Trek, reimagining, no
problems with it. Adapatations I feel much the same about. Except Starship
Troopers. Never has a film strayed so far from the source material, but still
ROCKED! The Brain Bug still haunts me.

The problem with remakes is people compare them to the original. I always look at remakes like they are new. I don`t think it is fair to compare a remake with the original. If the original didn`t exist would the remake be judged the same way. > > --- On Sat, 11/14/09, S. Frost <countess.frost@ ...> wrote: > > From: S. The original V was about 25 years ago. I hardly remember anything about it. I can write plenty about how bad it is without making any comparisons to the original. Most shows I just ignore & leave it to others if they want to watch them. It's just a matter of taste, right? I hope V gets cancelled, the sooner the better.
