I think the problem is that Compressor expects a file that has a 0 black level while the avid codec puts out a file with 7.5 IRE if you have the export setting...

You can't do the pulldown removal with QTs in Avid. You could do it in AE first then import the 24P QTs into Avid. Or, bump the DVD material to a tape source...
