True, but I wasn't using XDCAM, the files I was using were AVC-Intra.

That doesn't help, I still get the error from the Media Composer that AMA
clips cannot be exported to AAF.

Wes, the XDCAM files are muxed video and audio. They are MXF wrapped but not in the same flavor Avid uses for its MXF media. You can import, consolidate or...
