Description

Welcome to the Auricon Optical Sound Users group. If you are interested in optical sound film technology, this is the place for you. This is where folks can freely exchange information about Auricon and other older 16mm and 35mm optical sound systems and equipment. If you are interested in sharing as well as learning, you will get along just fine here. I don't know as much as I would like to about Auricon optical sound, but I am willing to share what little I do know. I hope you are the same.

Posts that are on topic cover just about anything regarding motion picture optical sound as well as Auricon equipment - from basic film making, sound, repairing amps, other equipment, where to buy supplies, etc. Note the new solid state Mark II power supply that has been developed for the Auricon amps. No need to lug dry cells around any more. A solid state amp is in the works that will drive that galvo in your camera as well! Exciting times are ahead and we want you to be a part of it. If you are a member here, you are welcome to post Auricon related things that you have for sale. But if your only function is to sell stuff, then you would be happier someplace else.

I am a light hearted guy, and I am not heavy handed about moderating. But I will say this. Try to keep on topic. If the discussion started out as where the buy capacitors for you NR-24, and now you are talking about your trip to Mexico last year, maybe you might want to reel it in a bit. Also, I expect folks here to be polite to each other. If you are rude or mean spirited, I will remove you.

We have a lot of Auricon and other documentation to share. I hope to fill up the file area. Please add to our files. I hope folks will post pictures of your equipment. Feel free to supply links to your on line movies, home web pages, or other related sources. We all want to see what each other is doing. Have fun and enjoy. Welcome!
