I've just received some sad news.
Director Ray Dennis Steckler has died.
    He's probably best remembered for
"The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living,
and Became Mixed Up Zombies", which he not only directed,
but also starred in as "Cash Flagg".
Thanks to our good friend Will the Thrill, I had the
chance to talk with Ray over lunch a couple of years ago
in Las Vegas. He was a friendly, funny, and genuinely warm
guy. We talked cult movies, westerns, classics, you name it.
I think he loved watching movies as much as he loved making them.
It was my pleasure to have met him.

Hey Gang...

It's been a long time in the making... but I can finally announce
some big news!

We'll be presenting a special TWO WEEK festival of 3-D this March, at
The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis!

None of that red/blue glasses stuff... this will be the real deal.
Polarized projection, with two 35mm projectors locked together in
sync. Just like they did it in the 1950's! And... we'll be showing
some of the best 3-d films of the 50's!

The shows start March 6, 2009. Showtimes and ticketing information
will be available soon. For now, some online trailers are available
here:

http://www.minneapolis3d.com

And remember, The Parkway Theater is attached to one of the best
Mexican restaurants in the Cities... Pepito's.
Plus, beer, wine and margaritas are available IN THE THEATER at night!

Help us get the word out... 3-D Is COMING!

Some sad news to report...
Rudy Ray Moore, forever remembered as "Dolemite" has passed away in
Ohio. Rudy was 81, and had been suffering from diabetes and other
health issues for several years.
One of several online obituaries is here:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/living/2008292230_webobitrudyraymo
ore21.html

I first met Rudy while tracking down rights to the picture Dolemite,
which we ran on the Atomic Midnights series. I had a memorable dinner
with him in Los Angeles, and spoke with him several times by phone in
the years since. I had hoped that Rudy would be able to make the trip
to the Twin Cities, to appear with his movie at one of our shows.
Truth is, his health just wouldn't allow it to happen.
Rudy was a guy who had truly been around, seen it all, done it all,
and lived to tell about it. He was also one hell of a gracious guy.
I feel lucky to have met him.

Which ones are you interested in chatting about? I have memories of
hosts dating back to when I was just a kid. (back in the 1980s)

Other than Mr. Shreek, my favorite horror movie show of all time
would have to be "Horror Incorporated" back in the 80s. A guy by the
name of Jake Esau, aka Count Dracula, hosted it back then. BOY do I
really miss him. He did have a website but all I can see on it is a
closed coffin. There are lots of other horror hosts out there that I
found out about on the web, but most of them are now gone or
inaccessible online. I'd have to watch their shows to be able to make
a good judgement of these guys.

Until next time....

OBEY! (Count Dracula)

Atomic Midnights has always been most "Phoenix-like".
I tend to set up between six and nine months worth of shows at a
time, with a break of at least several months in between.
Other business, including DVD projects, shows in other cities, and
moving the offices and film library to a new location have made the
present layoff a little longer than usual. They will be back in
Minneapolis this year, but a few details have to be worked out first.
I'll also be able to fill you in on some other cool stuff in
another week or so.
Ray doesn't have any DVD's left, but I do have the masters. As I've
also just gotten a couple of private emails asking about them, I
guess I should see about getting a few made up. I'll post a message
when they're available.

Thanks,
BC

Hey Group...
"Corpse Grinders" director Ted V. Mikels asked me to pass along
the following message in his own words. Here's your chance to
actually own a piece of a real-deal Cult Horror Movie:

"I will be starting principal photography on " DEMON BLOODLUST"
in late January. We have second unit already in action in New York,
and CGI and annimation of " DEMONS" is right now going on in my
studios here in Las Vegas. It will be low budget however in Digital
Hi-DEF, and the story contains all of the ingredients for today's
demanding market.

Here is an opportunity for you or someone interested to participate
in this movie as an Associate Producer. We already have several
interested distributors, and it should not be a big gamble. Anyne
starting in our business needs credits on his or her resume to be
taken seriously when they wish to undertake their own production. I
am offering Associate Producer positions at $2,500. per point, with
re-coups coming in from the VERY FIRST DOLLARS and every dollar
thereafter, without any recoupables from my end. Could be very
profitable. An associate would be invited to come to Las Vegas
during production and work in crew, or in an executive capacity, or
even in the cast. That would not be required, but might help someone
gain necessary experience. There will only be limited points
available, and all participants would have to be locked in no later
than mid-January.

If you yourself, or anyone you know would like to be an Associate
Producer with ON SCREEN CREDITS on this movie, let me know.
