Hey folks: the Big Apple Con will be featuring a host of horror
movie, TV James Bond, Sci-Fi TV, and classic comic book
personalities on April 1-2-3.
There will be the "Dark Shadows Mini-Fest," featuring Kathryn Leigh
Scott, Denise Nickerson, Diana Millay, Marie Wallace, and Nancy
Barrett. This will be a tribute/celebration of the classic gothic
vampire soap opera, featuring interviews, film clips, dramatic
readings, autographs, and much more!
There's also going to be over 100 guests at the convention.
Amongst the TV/movie personalities, there will be Geoffrey Holder
(Baron Samedi from "Live and Let Die," Punjab from "Annie," Tony-
winning director of "The Wiz"), and Debbie Rochon (Troma Film's
horror queen), David Hedison (Capt. Lee B. Crane from "Voyage to the
Bottom of the Sea," Arthur Hendricks from "The Young and the
Restless," Felix Leiter of "Live and Let Die" and "License to
Kill,"), Mark Goddard (Major Donald West of "Lost in Space"), three
beautiful and talented women from the new Star Wars movies, Cindy
Morgan (Tron, Caddyshack), Karen Lynn Gorney (Saturday Night Fever),
and Maureen Shea (Hillary Swank's trainer for "Million Dollar Baby"),
Comic book guests include Sergio Aragones (Mad Magazine cartoonist),
Joe Simon (creator of Captain America), Jerry Robinson (creator of
Robin and the Joker), Rpoy Thomas (longtime editor of Marval
Comics), Carmine Infantino (artist and publisher of DC comics),
Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and much, much more!
There's even going to be pro wrestlers such as ECW's The Sandman and
Francine, "The Queen of Extreme!"
Miramax will also be present, promoting their new movie "Sin City,"
opening that weekend.
The Big Apple Con is the East Coast's largest media and pop culture
convention, embracing comic books, art, sci-fi, anime, fantasy,
toys, and more! There will be over 300 dealers tables selling and
trading all sorts of merchandise (plenty of classic TV memorabilia,
as well as comics, videos, toys, art, and other collectables). This
will be in New York City, at the Penn Plaza Pavilion on 33rd St and
7th Ave, right across the street from Penn Station and Madison
Square Garden. The hours are Fri 1pm-8pm, Sat 10a-7p, Sun 10a-6p.
Admission is $15 each day or $40 for a three-day pass. For more
