Audition Announcement

Carschool Film-O-Rama, the gang who brought you the film GO TO HELL,
is pleased to announce the auditions for its new science fiction
feature, PLANETFALL -- Saturday, July 21, from 9am to 5pm at
Mediahaus Studio, 77 13th Avenue Northeast, suite number 205. Just
north of Broadway at Marshall Ave, located behind the Grainbelt
Brewery Building. Carschool is seeking 2 very physical, action
oriented and committed female leads, in addition to a wide variety of
men with character. The roles are not age specific. Bring photo,
resume. Callbacks and final casting will be the next day, Sunday July
22. Additional information can be found on the company's website,
www.carschoolfilms.com/auditions/audition.html.

Planetfall, the new feature from Carschool Film o Rama, is a
spaghetti western in science fiction clothing. Competing female
bounty hunters track down the ultimate treasure on a planet wracked
with turmoil. A drug named psylenol has hit the streets, stolen from
a secret military program and reconditioned to be an over-the-counter
psychedelic. When the general populace starts developing telekinetic
powers, the corrupt government of Zita declares martial law.

When the film starts, a confiscated shipment of the drug has been
stolen. Now the race is on to obtain the last supply of the most
powerful drug in the universe!

Characters:

LUX ANTIGONE: a cyber-enhanced member of the monastic cult Machinata,
who worship computers and whose greatest aspiration is to give
oneself entirely to The Machine. Much like a Ronin or Samurai, she is
a wandering swordsman available to the highest bidder.

WENDY STANTON: a female Clint Eastwood, who talks more! Wendy is ex-
army. She quit/was let go, depending on who you talk to. The only
reason she's not dead yet is that she's the President's daughter. She
wants to get to the psylenol to destroy it, but that's not what she's
telling her partner, Ugly.

"UGLY," AKA GORTON HEX: If you've seen THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY,
you know this type. He's a thief, but not a killer this time, and is
wanted for treason. Has teamed up with Wendy to steal anything worth
a lot of money.

TIRA CORONA: a general in a competing army who wants the shipment of
drugs for her soldiers. Hires Lux for the job, and watches much of
the proceedings from a remote space station called Ascendancy.

SHARK STERLING: Tira's second in command, a battle-savvy advisor and
a frightening character in his own right.

SECTION COMMANDER RUSTY ARNTZEN: The president's last division
leader, an old drill sergeant pulled into service to find the lost
shipment. He leads a small unit of screw-ups.

CAPT. "SHAKEY" LAVELLE: The big tough gunnery officer, huge weapons
and big muscles, but he's a PEACENIK!

PVT. BURTON LILES: Radio communications guy who'd rather listen to
old earth radio signals than do his job.

CAPT. THEODATO CUMBERLAND: A formidable black beret/Ranger type, with
natural psychic abilities cultivated over centuries by his family.
He's got to find the shipment from a sheer duty standpoint.

Designed to be done on the absolute cheap, it will be shot on Mini DV
in the months of August and September, with minor pickups into fall.
We plan to do several three day weekends as the main shooting time,
keeping the cast small and the shoots intensive. The tone of the
story is like a really good graphic novel out of HEAVY METAL magazine.

Interested parties should:

Have their own transportation.
Be willing to write off your personal life for whole weekends at a
time.
Probably not have kids who need to go to soccer practice.
Not be in it for money (there is none), fame, your name on the
marquee, or a personal trailer.
Be in it for the EXPERIENCE and THE FUN, which it will pay out in
dividends.

The best thing we can say about this is, THIS IS A LEGITIMATE FEATURE
FILM which will look great on your resume and great on your shelf at
home. We will be actively pursuing several distribution venues,
including cable and home video, but probably not theatrical (so when
someone asks you, when can we see it in theatres, say, "what do I
look like, Ben Affleck?"). We will be putting it out on DVD, come
hell or high water.

A word about the medium:
DV (digital Video) is getting a lot of attention as a means of
acquisition for low-budget pictures these days. Films like TIMECODE,
and THE ANNIVERSARY PARTY prove that you can get it into theatres,
but we see it as a means to an end. It is neither the worst nor the
best choice, but for a film of this size it enables two important
things: a vast price difference and the ability to manipulate shots
in the computer easily. This film (and yes, we're calling it a film,
or a "picture" as director Marko Stachniw would prefer) will have a
competitive edge in the marketplace thanks to cutting edge effects
backed up by a decent story and hopefully some actors that are fun to
watch. We invite you to be one of them.
