A newsletter dedicated to the great Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, who died in 1986. Tarkovsky made only seven feature films - 'Ivan's Childhood', 'Andrei Roublyov', 'Solaris', 'Mirror', 'Stalker', 'Nostalghia' and 'The
Sacrifice', but every one is of an extremely high quality, and two films - 'Solaris' and 'Stalker' - are regarded as among the greatest science fiction films ever made.
Tarkovsky produced a spiritual form of 'poetic cinema', an art of magical events, dreams, memories, multiple viewpoints, multiple time-scales and bizarre occurrenres. Tarkovsky is
one of cinema's great individuals. No one else makes films quite like Tarkovsky.
