LA Celebrity All Star Dodger Game   Message List

Hello, folks. You can imagine my immense delight yesterday when I
got to Dodger Stadium, albeit 30 mins late (gotta love SoCal
traffic) and discovered Adrian was a last minute addition to the
lineup of star players for the annual Celeb All Star Game. They had
one team wearing Dodger-style uniforms and another wearing Kings(?)-
style uniforms...needless to say I'm not a big baseball fan and my
original inspiration to attend was Sean Astin, who pulled out this
year for a convention in Chicago.

I took quite a few pictures, albeit with my camera mobile which I am
still trying to learn how to use! Once I figure out how to send them
to my email account, I'd be happy to post. Unsure how great the
quality would be, though. If I'm remembering correctly, his jersey #
was 9 and it was sweet watching him play catch with lil Jackson. I
may have even snapped a pic or two of that amidst all of the
gratuitous bum snaps. LOL

I saw him bat twice and on the second go-round, the announcer stated
his name and mentioned, "Adrian is married to Natalie Maines, lead
singer of the Dixie Chicks" which produced a collective boo from the
audience as well as some less audible cheers but Adrian took it in
stride, briefly his batting stance on the mound to turn around with
one hand raised in the air and smile cheekily for the crowd. The
announcer made her announcement in such a way that it seemed
deliberate to get a reaction, which was a bit tactless, if you ask
me.

All in all a fantastic day...i was quite disappointed I had arrived
so late and nary a Goonie in sight, but when I was handed the roster
and realized Adrian was present, I was thrilled to bits. It's too
bad the Dodger website didn't list his name earlier as I'm sure some
local fans might have trekked out to see our hero. :)
