I'm here. It's fairly quiet here much of the time.

I'm on three other Alan Rickman lists and I believe this is the least
active. The person who started this one I believe also belongs to at
least one of the other ones I'm on.

Anyway, I noticed AR when after I read the first two Harry Potter
books and then saw one of the movies. I thought the guy playing
Snape was doing a really good job. So I mentioned it to a friend and
she said, "You should see Die Hard." I hadn't seen it before so I
rented it. I kept thinking, "Wow, that CAN'T be the same guy." So I
looked him up on IMDB. Sometimes it seems like each character he's
played is so different it's hard to believe it's all Alan Rickman.
LOL.

I'm a 46 year old Mom of 2. My favorite Alan Rickman film at this
point is probably Snow Cake. My son, Age 11, has a form of high-
functioning autism called Asperger Syndrome. Sigourney Weaver did an
amazing job with that and Alan Rickman learned about autism in a way
similar to the way parents do (a little at a time dealing from one
experience to the next just doing the best we can)except perhaps
without the extreme pain and parental guilt. Anyway, Snow Cake
really meant a lot to me personally and the fact that AR was involved
made it that much more wonderful.

I also love when AR does comedy. The Search for John Gissing is
probably my favorite of these. Buy it from the internet if you
haven't already!!!!
