KWIK STOP

Facets, 1517 W. Fullerton, Chicago
FREE ADMITTANCE. SEATING IS ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVE BASIS.
A new spin on the road movie, written and directed by Chicago native Michael Gilio. Both touching and unpredictable, his Midwestern fable follows Mike (Gilio), an
aspiring actor who sets off for sunny L.A., but makes a fateful and "quick stop" at a convenience store where he meets Didi (Lara Phillips), an effusive young drifter. After afairy tale night together in the honeymoon suite of a roadside motel, Didi decides to tag along. Soon, an ex-girlfriend, Ruthie, joins the mix, and several twists and turns later, Mike’s plans have unexpectedly downshifted into neutral. But there will be many more quick stops on the way to Hollywood.
Producer Rachel Tenner will be in attendance. Join us at 5 pm at Facets for a workshop with Ms. Tenner as she discusses the film's financing, production, and its search for distribution. RSVP to attend at 312-435-1825.
FREE ADMITTANCE. SEATING IS ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVE BASIS.

DECEMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING
FILM MARKETS: WORTH THE MONEY?
Wednesday, December 12, 2001
Katerina's Coffee House,
1920 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago
6 pm to 8 pm
Film Markets, such as the markets in Berlin, Rotterdam, and Cannes, the American Film Market, and the IFP Market, are perceived differently by both distributors and filmmakers than Film Festivals. What is the value of entering a Market vs. a Festival? Join us as we discuss Film Markets and their role in the distribution world. Designed to be informal, these meetings will allow members to meet one another and discuss issues among themselves that they find important. The agenda of each meeting is up to the members themselves!
To RSVP and for more info contact: 312-435-1825 or email us at infoifpmw@...
