Yo!
I just got back from vacation and I'm super INTERESTED in joining a
team.....is it too late?? I'm an eager indie film/video enthusiast
and have been involved in various aspects of production and freelance
projects in the bay area. I'm a quick learner, super easy to get
along with, work well in teams and HARD WORKING. Hope to hear from
someone soon...................
Peace, Pam
Hi,
We are "The Gone Nucking Futs Team"! We are a group of talented actors and
directors
who will be co-creating the whole project, from writing, acting, directing
(cassavetes
style), editing, down to the music.
What we need:
Lighter/Gaffer/DP - someone with either of those titles who likes to light
things! If you
have a digital camera, that's a plus!
Actor: This would be an 'on call' kind of thing based on the genre we get.
My name is Gershom

Call me at 323-376-0878 or email me at gershom1@...
thanks,

The energy is building as the big weekend approaches! I just wanted to send out one last reminder about the Meet and Greet tonight (7/13). It's at the Canvas Gallery, 1200 9th Ave (not Street!) and Lincoln, San Francisco. It's fairly close to the N-Judah Muni line, and there is also a small parking lot on Lincoln and street parking in the hood. Hours are 7 to 9+ . Come when you can, and feel free to close the place down. www.thecanvasgallery.com
It should be a fun time. The CG has great grub and a *full* bar as well, plus interesting works of art throughout the place. If you can't make it yourself, you may wish to pass the info on to your friends and teammates so they are in the loop. Our goal is really to get people excited about the fun of film, and to help mix up the film-making communities in the area.
Share ideas and tips for how to make it all happen in 48 hours. Ask others how they get the ball rolling. Get contact info for participants, etc. Tell a crazy story that happened to you last year. You get the picture. Don't fear aiding and abetting your colleagues... after all, you'll have to sit through their films too! ;-) Seriously, we hope you'll do what you can to help make this whole crazy event positive and enjoyable for all.
Give me a call if you have any trouble getting there: 339-927-2232. Looking forward to meeting you soon!
Hi...I'm an EAGER film/video/audio person who is dying to get involved
with this project! I've been involved in various bay area projects
with some amazing creators and talents. I currently do CGs and audio
for KICU/KTVU and freelance all over the place, but am really pumped
to join a group and get rolling 48 hour style...the more competition
the better! Let me know if anyone needs help! I've dabbled in all
aspects of the industry and work well in groups where everyone has a
passion like I do.
Hope to hear from someone fast...
Jona
We'd like to announce...
THE 48 HOUR FILM MEET'N'GREET
Haven't entered the 48 Hour Film Project because you don't have a
team? Have a team, but want to recruit more folks? Just want to check
out the competition?
Well, you're invited to the 48 Hour Film Project's Meet'n'Greet.
WHERE: The Canvas Gallery, 1200 9th Ave & Lincoln (in the Sunset)
http://www.thecanvasgallery.com/
WHEN: Wednesday, July 13th, 7 to 9 pm
We're sorry for the late notice, but hopefully you'll be able to come
out anyway.
See you Wednesday! (Actually, JD will be there, but Ben will not, as
he will still be immersed in the NYC 48HFP at that point...)
Best,
Ben Guaraldi and John David

We sent out an invite for the team, and haven't heard from you.
As a shooter/director we would value your help to Team "Camera 5.1". We have a "slot".
Our writing needs are covered, so no need to fear getting put in that corner.
What do you think?

Thanks for contacing me so quickly, I'm not totally sure I want to commit to joining a team for this year, but as things start to come together, by all means keep me in mind. FYI - I'm really less of a writer and more of a shooter/director.

Hello all, I'm wondering if the 48HFF staff is going to email the results of the drawing. It was on the 1st I believe. Anyway, I'd still like to be part of a crew for this years event. I shot "The Ticket" last year for Slim Margins Media, we won best of San Francisco. I've got a 3chip camera, sticks, and experience. I'm a team player who just wants to make something great with other people who love the art of filmmaking. Talk soon!
This sounds like a lot of fun and and a good thing to help me get to my
career goal. I have made one music video in school and am making a
second BMX video right now. I am a 20 year old female and willing to
help my group out in any way I can. If you need me just fire off a e-
mail I'll get right back to you.
I'm a professional writer and amateur filmmaker who would love to help
out on your team. I have a 3-chip DV camera, field sound mixer, shotgun
mike & boom, small location lighting set. Email or call Patrick at 707
823-7455. Thanks.
Hello out there. I have not worked with film before but would love
to jump in the deep end, so to speak, with this project. I have been
acting for about 4 years. I have done scripted work but alas have
tons
of experience and love for Improv. I have a strong back to carry, two
feet to stand and little need for sleep. I have a felling these are
important attributes in this project. If you have a team or would
like
to start one let me know.
I got a response from a Robin Edwards, but not from a Robbie.
Let me know what information you've got about Robbie's group.

Bring to the table expertise in the fields of medicine and physics. Which is
completely
irrelevant unless your team draws genre sci-fi. Then it's a liability.
I am, however, excited to help contribute ideas, problem solve, lug gear, set up
lights,
boom a mic, keep the coffee hot but not burned, or do whatever else needs to get
done to
complete a creative, interesting project by 7pm on Sunday.
Oh yeah. I've also got a professionally useless minor in media studies from a
liberal arts
college and have some experience shooting and editing narrative video shorts,
both
before and after the coming of non-linear editing. And I come with a Sony

camera, if you need it.

I have never participated in this event before and I am looking for
a team to goin. I don't know what equipment is provided but I do
have a Cannon GL 1 Video camera and iMovie. Never acted or
made a serious film. I have edited several home movies and
made a few expirimental films. Tons of ideas.
This looks like a great way to get involved in the SF film scene, and
to meet some people. So if anyone needs an actress for their project,
I'm certainly interested.

then give me a shout! This sounds like a lot of fun and a great
experience. I have been in film productions and love the idea of doing
it all so fast. Please email me if you are in need of a participant.
Thanks! Amanda
I am a film studies graduate from UC Santa Barbara. I am very
interested in this competition and would love to participate.
I have never participated in this particular competition before, but I
have entered (and won) other similar competitions. My experience
comes mainly from student films shot at Allan Hancock College and UCSB.
I have capable transportation to San Francisco and the local area.
Let me know if you are interested. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hey there,
My name is Terri and I'm looking for a driven group basically
anywhere in SF or along the BART route.

I look forward to meeting all of you eventually,

Hi,
I've done the 48 hour thing in DC twice and it's a lot of fun.
I've moved to the Bay area since the latest one in DC in May.
I'd like to join a team here now. All my resume, headshots, etc. are
on my site: www.olivieractor.com
Cheers,
O.
Hey guys!
It's JD here, your SF local co-producer for the project. It's great
to see people starting to use the list! Networking is great, finding
who is out there, etc. We want people who are interested in helping
out to be able to connect with those who want a hand. To that end, we
have the list, and we'll also be hosting an informal meet-and-greet
event, open to all, soon after all the team leaders are drawn and
settled. It's fun to get a chance to hang before the madness starts,
and the meet-up is a great chance for potential team members to meet
teams and/or team leaders, and share ideas as well. I'm sure more
than a few leaders will still be putting a team together in that
timeframe. Stay tuned... And thanks for signing up! YOU are the
ones who make it happen!
Cheers,
JD

We're in the lotto, thus it's a dunno til 7-1-05, but you're invited to work and have fun with us.
We could use a steady hand with experience on the project.
How's your writing, or know anyone else for scriptwriting. Likewise we need to think about actors, makeup, and costume.

Thanks Ben for the starter message.
I'm (Mr.) Robin Edwards, and I'm looking to build a team that'll have
fun while at the same time time we're making the best film that we
can.
As Team Captain I can support the shooting, editing, and
postproduction. We're seeking another 3-chip camera and
camera-person.
Other key players are; a strong script-writer and a music producer.
If you know someone like that, have them e-mail us.
We're located in the South Bay Area.
The only advice that I can give (and follow) is to put a team through
the paces several times. Build stamina. See what is going to break.
Plan on taking casualties, and have a backup plan. Know what's "core"
and stick to that.
Robin
Hey all--
I'm Ben Guaraldi, one of the San Francisco Producers for the 48 Hour
Film Project. If you're just joining this list, here are a few
questions to get you started:
- If you are a team captain, or are on a team, what role(s) is your
team looking for? What equipment do you need?
- If you are looking for a team, what do you want to do?
- What are good ways to rent/borrow equipment in the SF Bay? To get
editing time? To find cast and crew (outside of this list, of course)?
- What advice do you have for other 48 Hour Filmmakers in the SF Bay,
whether you've done the contest before or not?
Thanks!
