Hello 48 Hour Film Fans!

Well, this is it!  The announcement everyone has been awaiting... Our Awards Show details!

The 2007 48 Hour Film Project has been the biggest yet, and a wild ride for all involved.  But it's not over yet!  Come on out next Wednesday evening for the San Francisco 48 Hour Film Project 2007 Awards Show.  This will be a great night of fun films under the stars, in San Francisco's beautiful Dolores Park.  It's also your chance to find out who won which award.  The films slated to receive an award are listed below.  Here are full details.

SF 2007 AWARDS SHOW:

DATE/TIME:  WEDNESDAY JULY 18th, 8:30 PM  (Come early for prime blanket spots...)

LOCATION:  outdoors in Dolores Park, San Francisco.  (Popcorn available on-site!!)

GETTING THERE:
Head to the part of Dolores St between 19th and 20th St., opposite Cumberland St, and look for the gathering on the hillside.

Public Transport:  J-Church Muni train to the park, #33 Bus to the park, or BART to 16th and Mission and walk West on 16th to Dolores St, then go South, up the hill to the intersection with Cumberland.

By Car (From East or South):  80W or 101N to Mission St exit. Go straight onto Duboce Ave. Left on Market. Next left on Dolores.
By Car (From North):  1S/101S over GG Bridge to Lombard st.  Left on Divisadero; Go 2 miles South on Divis. At Waller bear slight left onto Castro. Left on 18th street. Right on Dolores.

Very limited on-street parking is available near the park for the lucky.
PUBLIC GARAGE on 21st between Mission and Valencia. (May fill up!)  Walk west on 19th or 20th Street to the park.

COST:  The show is free, though a donation of $2-10 per person is requested to help offset permitting, equipment rental and insurance costs.  Please donate so we can do it all again!

DRESS:  Informal and WARM.  It is SF after all!  Bring a warm jacket, gloves, hat, etc. as you like, and a blanket to sit upon.

RULES:  Remove all your own trash. Leave the park *cleaner* than you found it.  Behave respectfully towards law enforcement and our neighbors.  As this is a public park, alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

FILMS:  As you know, this year was a big one for SF.  60 films were completed, and almost 50 were eligible for all awards. (A few strong contenders were not eligible, due to mis-spoken Line or excess length, etc.)  So our judges had a lot of work to do!  Now their decisions have been made.  The following films are up for an award and will be screened at the event (including Audience Favorites):

Bisque by Cheap Productions
Coach's Day by The Wooden Robot
Milestones by Argonaut Entertainment
Served Cold by Barewitness Films
The Elevator Pitch by 8-Bit Riot
Rosenfeld! For Hire by Wind Up Productions
InAction by Missing Piece Productions
Apt. 301 by Dream Maker
Time Is Money by SubSanity
Consumed by Subject To Change
Jackson Reynolds, P.I. by Beyond Forever Studios
Judgment by Team BP
Birds Of The Dark by A Concentric Voice
Awesome Woman and Groovy Girl, Episode 18: Chef's Special by Montage Productions
Unsettled by Straight Arrow Productions

I would just like to emphasize that there were many compelling films this year, and every team that entered into the event deserves to be honored and recognized.  If I could, I would be showing all our films, but that's just not possible.  I know winning an award is important to some folks, but let's remember that this event is really about the fun of making a film in a weekend.  In that spirit, I really hope EVERYONE comes out to enjoy these films, whether or not your film is on the bill.  I'm looking forward to seeing you there!

All the best,

JD
