Hi Kim--
You will find out your screening night by 6/29, probably before. You
will also be allowed to switch screening nights with agreeable teams
up until the kickoff.
Thanks for asking...

I am looking to form a cool team for this, and some other short film projects this summer. I am an independent filmmaker, writer, who has some interesting concepts and such. Hi Ben,
Do you know when we'll find out which night our films will be
screened? I know you won't even be doing the drawing until June 17th,
but I was curious if we'll know before we turn in our films. Thanks!

Those are the "BonBon" choices now (to prevent people from getting the
same genre 3 or 4 times running, like BonBon did last year).

I stand corrected. Those added Genres were to the National Film
Challenge, not 48HFP. Whoo, I'm glad I don't have to deal with
that "coming of age" genre! Scary...

Hi Ron--
Yes, those are the correct genres.
I'm pretty sure that the list of genres has not changed since 2004.
It did change between 2003 and 2004, when we removed Film Noir.

Just looking over the posted genres on the main site:
• Action/Adventure
• Comedy
• Detective/cop
• Fantasy
• Horror
• Mockumentary
• Musical or Western
• Mystery
• Romance
• Sci Fi
• Spy
• Superhero
Seems like some of the new ones that were added last year (buddy,
coming of age, etc.) are no longer there. Does anyone know if this is
true? Is this the list they are using?
Hey everyone,
I've never taken part in this before but I'm looking to join a team if
I can still sign up.
I love when I get the chance to work on a project where there is a time
constraint and having worked in a newsroom for a few
networks....pressure drives me. I've also worked on a couple student
films and indpt. (including "The Great New Wonderful"), which was
recently shown at the Tribeca Film Festival
I've worked as a PA, but I have also served as assitant to the
producer. I also know basic editing (non linear). I'd love the chance
to take part in this project. Thanks!!

[Unsolicited testimonial] "Benchwarmers" was a really delightful
story, I loved it. I was so impressed, I went out and got myself an
imaginary Canadian girlfriend.

PS, She's gone now. Back on the bench, no doubt.
Saw your post (as I'm sure thousands of others have). I co-wrote last year's film "Benchwarmers" which one the NY prize for best screenplay. It was my first year doing it and i had a blast. I'd be up for doing it again. Let me know if you'd like to see some writnig samples or something of that nature.
My name's Jonathan. I co-wrote last year's film "Benchwarmers," which one for
best
screenplay. Last year was my first time and I had a blast. I'd be interested
in doing it
again. If by any chance there are still teams in need of a writer, please let
me know as I'd
be interested in meeting and discussing your approach. thanks!

At the moment we're scheduled for 24. If more teams than that sign
up, and we are able to find more theater space we may expand it more.
Thanks for asking,

Hi,
I'm looking for a team to join. I will be taking a production course
at the Tisch Film School at NYU all summer and should have free access
to their editing equipment - if that helps anyone's team?
I have three years experience directing 3 man crews for the BBC and
MTV. I've experience filming with a variety of DV cameras myself and a
bit of experience with lighting set-ups. I've also produced some music
videos.
If anyone has a space on a team for a director / camera operator /
1st AD etc let me know!
Thanks

Hi, Franco-
Why not just sign up and form a group? I think applications are still
open.

Hello -
My name is Gabrielle Penabaz and I've been editing since 2002. I use
Final Cut Pro and I am used to working on tight deadlines, mostly for
quick-cut music video style stuff. I created a DVD for Webster Hall
and I've done a bunch of work for Bacardi, Crobar and my own video-
friendly band, Saint Eve.
I'm interested in the festival not only because I think it's fun but
because I'd love to make some little films this summer and am looking
for good people to work with.
Cheers,
gabrielle

Hi, I'm a film student and I'm interested in joining a production team.
If anyone needs any help please contact me. I can help write a short
screenplay if it's needed. I can also help on the set and with editing.
Whatever you need someone for just ask me and I'll let you know if I
have any experience with it. Thanks! - Denise
Hi Everyone,
Here are some other words to describe me; Quick Witted, downtown-ish,
Giddy, Bunny-like, Aware, Versatile. I can do everything from Shakespeare to
Improv and anything inbetween. I studied at The Shakespeare Institute in
Stratford Upon Avon, Chicago City Limits, UCB and NYU. My biggest film role
to date was a scene between Danny DeVito and myself in Ivan Reitman's
"Junior", I also had a few lines in Woody Allen's "Sweet and LowDown" and
the trailer for the film is just Sean Penn and me!
I am told I resemble a cross between Janeane Garafolo and Monica
Lewinsky...I'm hardworking, and a real trouper, I'll try anything once as long
as
it works!
Pic and Res available upon request.
Thanks!

preference.
Please feel free to contact me directly @ 1-520-404-7621, or

as well
as an experienced actor, more specifically with theatre, although

hearing from
you- and am willing to lend my assistance in any way needed.

Hello Everyone!
I am very interested in this 48 Hour Film idea. I am open to take on
any behind the camera positions. I have directed a couple of shorts
and a feature-length film. I was the cinematographer on most of my
films. I am also comfortable as a P.A.
If anybody is in need of an additional group member, please contact
me.
Thank you.

Hi, after a couple years of hearing about this 48 hour film, i want to
be involved in any way i can. I am 26 and have been an actress for
many years, some not as productive as others, and worked in both film
and commercials on the other side of the camera. I attended theater
school for two years and then decided to get my degree in video/film
production from the Art Institute of Dallas. Yes I am a Texan. If
you would like my headshot or resume, feel free to email me at
aprilgentry@.... So, like i said, if you are in need of someone
who can both assist in the production and the acting portion of your
48 Hour Film, don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks!

Hey all--
I'm Ben Guaraldi, the New York Producer for the 48 Hour Film Project.
If you're just joining this list, here are a few questions to get you
started:
- If you are a team captain, or are on a team, what role(s) is your
team looking for? What equipment do you need?
- If you are looking for a team, what do you want to do?
- What are good ways to rent/borrow equipment in New York? To get
editing time? To find cast and crew (outside of this list, of course)?
- What advice do you have for other 48 Hour Filmmakers in NYC, whether
you've done the contest before or not?
Thanks!
