National Film Challenge, October 20-23, then head to the National

Enter the National Film Challenge!
Not enough filmmaking in your life? Sign up for 48 Hours' sister
competition, the National Film Challenge, October 20-23. The nation-
wide contest is similar to the 48HFP, but filmmakers get a little bit
more time. On Friday at 7 p.m., competing teams receive their genre
by email along with the required character, prop and line of
dialogue. The finished films are mailed to the National Film
Challenge headquarters in St Louis, Missouri and must be postmarked
that Monday, October 23.
Now in its forth year, the National Film Challenge is an extended 48
Hour competition formed in partnership with KDHX-TV, a public access
community station in St. Louis that encourages independent media
production. In 2005, 139 teams from 32 states completed the National
Film Challenge. Congratulations to 3 Second Rule Productions of
Miami, Florida whose film, "The First Robot," won the Best of the
2005 National Film Challenge.
Registration for the National Film Challenge begins on September 1.
Teams are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
