Here are some shots of me.
You can also go to http://www.imdb.com (just type in
my name under search) or to see a trailer of a film
that just premiered at The Brendan Theatres inside The
Palms Hotel & Casino called "The Indie Pendant" go to
http://www.vdefilms.com (I play Robert Wynn)
If you want to see some other actors and actress' they
can be seen at Big Picture Studios from 6-9pm on
Mondays or Wednesdays, but you MUST call first.
I'm the Founder/Director of RAW (Real Actors Workshop)
call 320-4844 and let me know your coming.
I don't believe that you'll have much luck going
through any agencies in town, since I doubt if your
budget includes one of the most important things in my
opinion "actors" but I could be wrong.
Agents usually don't do much unless there is money
involved.

Hi Angela--
We've just confirmed this with Christina. It is okay for people to work on multiple films, although we advise against it because teams are usually
doing the same things at the same times.

Absolutely - you can mix genres as long as the one you picked is clearly represented... One guy out of NY makes everything a musical - and he does everything himself... it's very funny.
I am confirming your question regarding one actor in multiple films...

I am financial core through SAG (I can do both union and

Chet - did you find any good tee-shirt action? I might get in on
some of that if you need to make a minimum buy or could get better
pricing if we buy more... they would have to allow different
designs... let me know what you found.

Best 48 Hour Film Project movie ever
So from 7pm Friday to 7pm Sunday, I made a movie. Like, MADE a
movie. Meaning, a movie I directed was written, casted, prepped,
shot, edited, sound designed and scored in 48 hours.
And it's fucking awesome.
We drew the cop/detective genre for our movie, so we made a
supernatural detective thriller called THE LAST SHOT. Shot it 24p,
got a sweet bar as a location, got amazing music from my friend
Matt, and my friend Ray did some incredible visual effects. Plus,
the story's tight. It's a cool movie. (And it's a thriller! ME! Mr.
Make Nothing but Comedies! I did a thriller! I'm so proud of
myself :)
It's showing Thursday night in Cambridge, Mass. Hopefully, it'll do
well. And hopefully, we can get it online before too long. And if we
do, I'll get a link up here. Because it's good *ear-to-ear grin*

Great experience... hope this works. Also try posting on Craig's List www.craigslist.org because so far this group isn't generating much of anything. Also, be sure to attend the event on July28 at Design Within Reach (Boca Park, Summeriln www.dwr.com). That will be a great place to network!

BTW- is it too late to get on the waiting list?
Thanks Amy...
As you all know, the first 10 teams to register were automatically
in. The deadline to register was July 1.
31 teams registered, so the last 21 went into the random drawing,
the rest are on the wait list (3). Two teams have already
withdrawn. I stuggled with what to do with the remaining few, but
we just couldn't make it work. It wouldn't have been fair to anyone
had we tried to cram everyone in. I needed a few more than had
committed in order to plan a third screening, so we decided to cut
it off at 26 (13 teams per screening) and make it an awesome event.
They do the random drawing because people have argued that they
didn't hear about the project until just before the deadline -
understandable - but I think next year it will be first come, first
serve across the board. The drawing is random and is conducted at
headquarters to spare me the pain. I hate to tell people no! But
to be clear - no one was "disqualified" for any reason at all.
The wildcard genre is new this year. After all the teams have
picked their genre any team wishing to trade its genre for the Wild
Card genre will have the opportunity to do so after the character,
prop and line of dialogue have been announced and the final
announcements are made. Teams must give up their selection BEFORE
the Wild Card genre is revealed - and there is no turning back.
This is Vegas baby - you all understand risk.
The Wild Card genres are:
Buddy Film
Coming of Age
Dark Comedy
Foreign Language
Historical Fiction/Period Piece
Silent
**Note that the Wild Card Genre exchange/announcement will likely
occur just after the 7 p.m. official start time.

Hi, folks!
I just got the welcome message from Angela Abshier, and it raised a
question for me. She says that 31 entries were received and 26 were
accepted. Those five who weren't accepted -- were they rejected or
were they eliminated via a random drawing?
Question two: What's this about a wildcard genre? How will that work?
Is it a surprise genre or is it your choice of the other twelve?
Can't wait to get this show on the road!

CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS!
Hi... my name is Angela Abshier and I am the Las Vegas producer of
the 48 Hour Film Project. I am contacting this group in an effort
to seek out every single person with an interest in filmmaking in
Southern Nevada.
The 48 Hour Film Project is a high-energy filmmaking competition.
Filmmaking teams make a movie from scratch, writing, shooting, and
editing the 7 minute films - all in one weekend.
On Friday, August 5, teams draw their genre from a hat and receive a
character, prop, and word that must appear in the film. On Sunday,
August 7, teams race to drop off their masterpieces. On Tuesday,
August 9th, filmmaking teams will see their finished work on the big
screen at Brenden Theatres at the Palms.
The project is open to pros and amateurs alike. Teams will compete
against each other to represent Las Vegas at the 48 Hour Film
Project's Annual Awards Ceremony and to win the coveted "Best of
2005" prize.
To register or find out more, visit www.48hourfilm.com
The 48 Hour Film Project is held in 46 cities in the US and around
the world, including New York, Los Angeles, London and Brisbane,
Australia. The 48 Hour Film Project's mission is to support
independent filmmakers and energize independent filmmaking
communities.
I hope you will help spread the good word, and I hope to see you all
there!
Teams must be registered by July 1!
All my best,
Angela Abshier
